Will let him know but he is coming from north GA so my guess is I-95. I don't think they plan on stopping anywhere in between coming or going. He has another guy coming with him to take turns driving.

Here to Help

I'm in NY for the holidays as well should he need a few guys to help. Just a thought, but I'm sure there would be some guys on the forum that would be interested in a jeep, motorcycle, or other things he needs to sell...keep it within the family so to speak.

Does anyone have Adams cell? I know Sharky said he'd be tied up with dual family's this week so he may not be available. I have Rangers asking for a number to get the ball rolling from their end and make it easier to coordinate details and arrival times with Adam. If you have contact please pm me as this is time imperative.

Pardon the intrusion...I am going through this right now with my in-laws' estate in upstate NY (they died within 2 months of each other this fall).
82Redleg is spot-on with the guns ... if it is just long guns, pack them securely for proper transport through NJ and MD (in particular), and exfil with them. That's what we did - went to the local Gander Mountain and bought hard cases and padlocks.
We used a funeral home that knew the family (small town), but having a third party handle the arrangements is a good idea.
If there is a will, it has to be filed with the county Surrogate's Court. If no will, you have to file different paperwork to be named as Executor OR Administrator, in order to sell off houses, cars, etc.
A good tip: If the son has his name on any joint accounts, it is legal and advisable to empty those accounts *before* filing the will or administrator paperwork with the court.
Make sure to pay utility bills, and keep the heat on so pipes don't freeze.

I just texted him to see how the road trip is going. I'll update the thread when I hear back from him.

I have a few hard gun cases and some locks I will bring to secure the long guns. I told him I'd bring them when I talked to him Sunday afternoon.
