Japanese Lt. who fought WWII until 1974

My uncles were Marines in the Pacific and the one that returned often talked to his brother (my dad) about the tenacity of these Japanese soldiers.

Fascinating article.

Wow. Some of the situations in that story were incredible. The one where they were fighting over the only female, "fishing" accidents. Yeah, nuts!

I remember one of our general orders involved not abandoning a post until relieved. I guess those Japs took that one seriously.
