Riphagen - The Untouchable
Another good flix on NETFLIX.
It's a WWII true story about Andries Riphagen a Dutch Collabrator to the German SD in Holland. He runs a scam turning in Dutch Jewish citizens to the SD. It's in Dutch with english subtitles. Well worth the 2 hours to watch it. |

Sounds like the flip side of "Black Book", movies about this period made by European directors are usually pretty good.

Black Book is a pretty good movie. I started watching this but had to leave, I look forward to picking it up later.

Good movie.
I think it is a great example of David Kilcullen's "conflict entrepreneur" as per his book "Out of the Mountains". So much like real life.....not just black/white......but lots of gray as well as flip-flopping with the winds of change.

I've put in an order for this, I want to watch it.
Did a little checking on Riphagen, who wound up not only surviving the war but also surviving the aftermath, mainly by reaching out to the same resistance leaders he was working against during the war and offering to help them find other collaborators, from all walks of life, in Holland. Unreal, this guy was a master of playing everybody off against each other. He wound up living out his life traveling around Europe apparently, mainly in Spain. And living a pretty good life too, he definitely walked away from all of his misdeeds.
