The Brave

Found out about this show on the net a couple weeks ago. It looks interesting, kind of like the now-canceled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, but military instead of FBI.

Premieres tonight, 10 PM EST on NBC.

Never heard of any of the actors in the show, so I dunno if the acting will be any good.

My bet is the acting will be at the standard network level, which generally means crap.

The only trailer I saw for it focused primarily on the chick who is on the team, appears to be channeling some sort of Gina Rodriguez persona and not doing a good job of it.

Then there is the team leader back at HQ played by Anne Heche, you may remember her as Joe Pistone's wife in Donnie Brasco, made up to look a bit like Hillary. Actually, it appears they're doing the full on Hillary here.

The trailer is probably from the first episode, which involves a hot white chick being held captive by some jihadists, and Heche reciting some monologue about how if somebody takes an American captive, they'll pay a heavy price because we're on it. In reality, just the opposite is true in many instances. On occasion, if the intel and conditions are just right, a rescue attempt might be made, but generally if you get captured out beyond the frontier, you're pretty much on your own.

And why is it that hot young blond chicks always seem to be getting their asses in a sling? Is it part of their genetic makeup?

No, but if she looked like Rosie O'Donnell the audience wouldn't care if she got rescued.

It's not Rosie O'Donnell's looks that turn people off.

Saw the previews for the show. I think I'll pass.

I watched the first episode, and won't waste any more time on this series. It smacked way too much of agenda.

It was just meh, IMO. I'll watch the next one to see if it gets any better.

SEAL Team on CBS(I think) is more of the same. It premiered last night.

It wasn't bad for a Monday night since Monday's don't have a lot that I like to watch. If something comes along that's better, I won't miss this one at all. It's entertainment...nothing more! It's another one of those type of military shows that you know every action before it actually happens because they are all the same.

Why do all these special ops shows have to focus so much on the 'war back home?' I mean, I could(n't) give a shit about the.... insert politically incorrect discussion about junior's student evaluation and the impact it is having on Bubba and the missus.... Let's shoot some bad guys in the face!

Man, this show has all the agenda bits.

The female "sniper" who comments that her CO is the first one she's ever had that didn't just view her as a woman. Of course he replies that he can't ignore it because it was harder for her to get there than he can even begin to understand. And it's the medic on the rooftop with the scoped rifle while she's leaning out the window of a moving vehicle, making headshots on a guy in another moving vehicle...with an MP7...because she's a sniper who can make that shot.

The new guy who's a Muslim and just wants to fit in.

The boss is a woman who looks like Hillary.

The show itself is cheesy as hell. It's the 2017 version of the E-Ring.

I'm a girl and I hate that soap opera bullshit.

I'd like all the at home melodramas to be cut or rename the series to "SEAL Dynasty" or "Knots Landing: the Brave". At least then you know what it's going to be about. And NO I didn't watch them back then and I don't care who shot JR but I DID buy a cute little doggie t-shirt for my poodle that said "I bit JE".

I've watched the first 2 episodes of both series & I think I'm done.

Oh & David Boreanaz is too old & as an actor on TV I've seen enough of him.

The sniper irks me too.

Saw Episode 4 because I had 43 minutes to waste and it's been raining almost everyday here. The good point was the ANP uniforms were accurate and the best line of the series so far: "Let's hope it's deodorant".

O for 2 on the on the first 2 series. Haven´t seen "Valor¨ yet. Last seasons ¨Six¨ with a sequential story line was not bad with better acting IMO.
