Ok so the VSO I found filed something for an audit of my effective dates.

Now I get a call today from the independent contractor QTC to schedule a C&P exam for a disability they just awarded me less then a month ago? WTH - is it normal to get an awarded disability, which they incorrectly paid me back pay and now less then 30 days since I am expected to go to another CP exam so they can lower my award?

If you used a VSO contact them an they should be able to tell you what is going on.

This is a report on The V.A Regional in Atlanta, I.G report.
it worth reading

Got this from a friend about the Hines VA.

Welcome to the Hines VA Hospital Emergency Room! Yes, she's sleeping and when I asked her to check me in for my abscessed tooth, she said I'm off the clock and went back to sleep. This shit needs to end.

That's seems like a picture the VA OIG should be interested in seeing...

Update. They corrected the effective date, but still did not correct the back pay they owe. Not sure what to do now - have correct effective date, but how do I relay they still owe me a year of back pay?

That does not sound right at all. Did you file a notice of disagreement(0958)to correct the effective date ? I like to think that 2 months is average to fix errors but that is far from the truth.

Yeah, send this crap to the OIG. VA employees get 2 15 minutes breaks and a 30 minute lunch and all should be taken out of public view unless in a common break room. This type of shit won't end unless it's reported. It is hard to fire a VA employee( union or not) but it is possible. It all in leadership.

The VA hospital in Gainesville housekeeping leadership was on it but the top hospital leadership was not. When the housekeepers wanted to fire an employee they had to get permission from the top. When the top didn't agree with it and said "give them another chance", they would be moved to the area that cleaned the leadership area. You would be surprised how fast they were released.

The VSO filed a CUE request and requested an audit of the effective dates. Received my package, which had an award for a deferred condition and they addressed the CUE and said they found the effective date was an error and they corrected it. Received back pay for the deferral, but not the wrong effective date.

I have Stage 4 cancer and need a referral to an Oncologist so I can get treatment locally. Since I use the VA for primary care all I asked for was a referral, no issue right? Wrong. I would have to have a Choice Card. I explained that going 70+ miles to Shreveport for treatment when you are sick isn't easy and additionally my wife and I are primary care for my 93 year old mother. I eft there at 11:30 local and as of 17:00 they have yet to give me any answer but we don't do things that way. I ended up going to a Senior clinic because this is sort of time critical, took 15 minutes to get a referral. I'm not happy.

Oldguy,

GSniper pretty much summed it up in the quote below. I don't use VA anymore for anything - but if you do, IMHO don't use VA for anything major. Stay well,

Final outcome. The VA called me with an approval to go out of the system on 10/13. by the time they called I got and saw a primary physician, got a PET scan and saw the Oncologist. I don' blame the local people and really don't blame the hospital. I do blame the system that is at best slow and hart to navigate. I will attend the talk when the Hospital CEO comes to town.

Thank you all for your input.
