"IT"

Saw it last night with my girl. It's an updated, big-screen version of the Stephen King novel that was made into a tv mini-series back in 1990.

This flick was better than most King movies (with two definite exceptions being "The Shining" and "The Green Mile":); it was nicely done and Bill Skarsgard is excellent as Pennywise the Clown.

No way. No how. The only thing scarier than a clown would be a dentist in a clown suit.

The book was fantastic. That said, the first made for TV movie sucked out loud other than Tim Curry who was awesome. This time I think they got it right all the way around. Movies obviously never hold a candle to the book, but this one was pretty good. If you are a fan of the book, go see it! I'm excited for chapter two.

Let me think....it's probably been 30 years since I read the book, and I still don't want to watch the damn movie!

I have a overly vivid and graphic imagination as it is, and I don't need to give my fucked-up brain any more ammunition to keep me awake at night.

I'm with you on this one. Nope. I love Stephen King, read his novels and seen more than one of the movies made from his books. But this'un is a no-go.

Clowns? Pussies. People scare me way more than clowns or ghosts or whatever. But this was enjoyable despite the stupid clown. A lot like stranger things, though, and just just because of casting.

How about a mime dressed up as a clown?

That's pretty scary, kind of like two black holes colliding.

haha

If that happened, the Earth would go spinning off into the universe in a trillion pieces, like what happened to those hapless government agents who confronted Lawnmower Man in front of his house.

I fucking hate clowns. But a buddy talked me into it and we went to Alamo Drafthouse to watch it. Honestly gotta say the movie was well made and the storyline was superb. Worth the watch despite the damn clown.

That being said, I'll never watch it (or any other clown movie) again.

It was a big disappointment for me. I went in with some high expectations due to the hyping up of this flick. I thought the comedic aspect took away from the seriousness of the film, however, the kids did a superb job. Pennywise, IMO, was a let down.

Those who worry about clowns have no fear. The wife hates scary movies, and even she sat through it with no problem.

I mean, for FFS, there was a cleaning montage.

I saw IT last night. I thought the movie was alright. However, it wasn't as scary as it was hyped up to be. I'd give it a 6/10. I'll probably see the second part when it's released, if only to finish the story.

Stephen King is an epic douche. I won't spend a dime to further enrich his stupid ass.

The great irony there is that King's forte as a writer lies in his talent for character development, yet his own is so lacking.
