g,
M's comments about witnesses who have no incentive to shade the facts, is true in my humble estimation and has been the basis for courts accepting their testimony as truthful.

Crikey...apparently you know nothing about the case, as well. Go read up on the case.

It's a general statement. It sounds like multiple of his teammates have implicated him in what the UCMJ and the reasonable person would consider crimes, and that they've done it because they wanted to not because they got an immunity agreement or "had to". That's usually a bad sign for the defendant. According to published reports some of his SEAL teammates have described him shooting at teenage girls and an old man.

I didn't take offense. I will write it again...both of you are apparently unaware of the facts of the case. The defense has presented testimony from witnesses that (if true) provides motivation for his subordinates to testify against him, or make false allegations against him. I'm not taking a side (as posted before), I'll wait for the cases to be done.

I did read that and he is of course owed due process like everybody else.

Google "Master Sergeant Joseph Newell." Read that case. Then Google "Master Sergeant Troy Anderson." Read that case. You will then have a bit of insight into my reasons for withholding judgment until cases are done.

Gavin is correct and I agree with him. I'm waiting for the cases to conclude.

As a non-SOF guy posting in this thread...I'll run the risk of getting my dick slapped but god damn.

In reading FU Kings links, I can't help but to immediately recognize the profound immaturity of the involved parties which is particularly disturbing given their positions. Equally troubling is leadership influence (or lack there of) which either ignored or allowed certain behavior patterns to persist. Sad story.

It's not limited to SOF, trust me. The ones who you are thinking would be the professional and mature ones are normally the primary perpetrators of drinking too much and doing stupid shit. They are also much better at covering it up and keeping it quiet with the host nation. The difference here is that this time it was SOF and an American died.

Combine this with alcohol and egos, and no good will come from it.

One of the defendants is scheduled to enter a guilty plea tomorrow - to lesser charges.
One would suspect that this includes a proffer to testify....

Having worked in Africa for a while now. It really is mind blowing that something like that can even occur within our ranks.. As much as a shithole that Mali, Niger and other places are.. I value an American gun/Buddy anytime over anyone there. I am sure SSG Melgar felt the same. RIP Brother.
