No, Lake Trout are deep to begin with 100ft+ in the Summer. The South side of the lake is the deepest, but it is rock and houses to the shoreline and steep. The rest of the lake is fishable with some nice Brown's and Rainbow. Lake Tahoe has some nice Lake Trout in the summer trolling big plugs.

Some nice Brown's come out of French Meadows and Hellhole Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest/Desolation Wilderness area.
