Finally got my Harsey D2 back together and opening like it should

Great folder, bought it back 07-08. I had contacted Lone Wolf card in hand, ol dude on phone directed me to one of his distributors. In turn the distributor gave me a hell of a deal <$200 IIRC.

Somewhere along the line during daily use the spring started slipping and the auto feature went tits up. I had torn it apart to fix it & on reassembly thought I had lost one of the .153 pins..... bagged it up and set it with the bazillion other rebuild projects I had. A couple years back I went to order parts, found out Bench made bought out LW. “Send it in, maybe we have parts, no guarantee, blah blah, blah” they said

Back in the stack it went.

I got a a wild hair this weekend to try and get ‘er up and running again & viola, with a little polishing, little extra attention to detail and this lil bastard is back in the game.

I’m not really a knife guru by any means, just a hillbilly that appreciates sharp pointy things. That said to me, this is the best folder I’ve ever owned bar none. Comfortable, it naturally sits in the hand, Kraton scales are sticky as hell, clip is stout and the S30v has a nice balance between ease of sharpening and edge retention (Unlike a couple other Elmax knives and some previous S30v Benchmades as well)

Now, the task is not to lose the sucker

Aluminum foil knife

Probably just a day in the park for our knife makers here, but I was completely fascinated by the precision and process.

Dammit, forgot there is a knife thread. Mods, please move this.

As I grew up, pocket knives were always one of those things that were passed down from generation to generation. I still have some that my grandfather gave me before he passed away. My dad carried them as I grew up, but for some reason, he simply sort of "quit" carrying them at some point and they all eventually disappeared into the abyss. Great article!

Also, thanks for the link! I have been combing through it and will be bookmarking it as a favorite for future reading!

A small Case knife in the pocket was part of getting dressed in the morning.

Here's one of a matched set of two. They're being donated as prizes for BRC.

I picked up a Buck 119 for $20 at the pawn shop.

Up close, the edge looked like a serrated bread knife knife...

ETA, It’s sharp know. Please me know if anyone is in need of this knife, otherwise I will see if I can sell it.
