SOF magazine archive

Stumbled on this quite by accident. Not complete but a good selection. The classified section is worth the time to read.

Enjoy folks!

When I went to Israel in 1984, May/June, later that year was an article about the Israeli airborne drop in SOF.

Good find.

I had a friend (Ranger buddy class 4-80, Force Recon Marine, Eric Strahl) who wrote for them. They did a feature on a SWAT school I was an instructor at in TN at the State Academy around 85-86ish.

I flew Cobra's with Wayne Geer, whose brother Galen wrote for SOF.

SOF magazine guys visited my unit a couple of times back in the day, at our base in the Caprivi Strip. We plied the guys with booze and tried to outdo each other with exaggerated rambo stories for them. It seemed funny at the time.
Pre-internet was a different world and SOF Mag was influential in my career choice. Still in contact these days with RKB via Facebook.

+1. I think I was 12-13 when I read my first issue. I had to hide them from my mom.
