Mexico got a gift, amazed that the Koreans were able to beat Germany. As one of the announcers stated, at that point they were really playing for pride. Knocking off the defending champ (and eliminating them in group play for the first time ever in the World Cup) is almost (but not quite) as good as advancing to the next round.

So looking at the round of 16 schedule I see that 10 teams are in and there are still 6 to be decided. Probably be a couple more shockers before it's all over.

My money is on Colombia and Japan advancing in their bracket, but Colombia should not underestimate Senegal.

Both Brazil and Argentina were on that of edge of Harakiri...

I haven’t watched enough games to pick a good team.

Work smarter, not harder...

Colombia wins 1-0 and Japan loses to Poland 1-0.

Therefore: Colombia wins it's group and plays the loser of Belgium vs England.

Even after losing, Japan goes through ion the fair play tie breaker with Senagal...

Vamos Colombia!!!

Kind of funny that England and Belgium are playing against each other in a game in which each of them might be better off simply losing.

Soccer players would never tank a game, would they?

Messi was... not himself.

1-1 so far in my predictions.

The young Frenchman Mbappe is strong and will get stronger.

unfortunately for Argentina, he was.

It was Di Maria who wasn't himself. He actually tried putting in some effort today. That was what kept Argentina in it. France could have had 7 goals in that match.

I relish the tears of Argentina fans.

I only watched a bit of the Argentina/France match, France had so much space to operate that it almost looked like Argentina didn't have enough men on the field.
