This is an interesting turn of events. I trust that little gerbil Sadr about as far as I can drop-kick him. Really seems like he is building a coalition of oddballs, communists, secular Arabists, and nationalists, which is...surprising...to me, anyway.
Look at his Hawza class photo and rank order him against his classmates in terms of a fealty to Tehran and it may make more sense.
