New Ethiopia in, notes of bergamot, lavender, and peach, with strong bittersweet chocolate notes as the roast progresses.

New natural process Ethiopia! Super juicy, fruity, blueberries and wine. It won't be around long.

I roasted almost half my small supply of this Ethiopia, drinking it this morning. It's VERY heavily fruited. If you've never had a coffee that made you stop what you're doing and say 'huh?', then you should try this. Blueberry, raspberry, mango, lemon zest, and spices, pretty intense. This bag will probably be gone in a week, I'll be trying to buy more, so more people can try it.

This is back in rotation, and I have more Ethiopia Shantawene, but the wet-process version of that dry-process that sold out in a week in Dec. I actually prefer the wet-process, which is odd for me.

So, we decided to rotate in a few competitors for a month or two. As you likely saw, we came right back and picked up a couple more bags of Espresso Toro.

I mean this sincerely, you have the best espresso bean on the market.

Anyone have recommendations for a good portable solution for making espresso shots?

There are a number of options, from rok to nanopresso, but imo it's cumbersome and not worth it. They all involve heating water somehow, pouring it into the brewer, and brewing. You're better off brewing drip for travel purposes, imo.

Just to throw options out there, if you were to pursue this line of action/fall down this rabbit hole:

Moka pot - it's not true espresso, more like strong coffee, but it's easy and good, a classic for a reason. I like it because it heats water in the device.

https://www.amazon.com/Bialetti-0680...1349332&sr=8-4

Aeropress - Also easy and good, and like the Moka pot, makes strong coffee, not actual espresso. Great for travel, backpacking, etc. Durable and cleanup is a cinch.

https://www.amazon.com/AeroPress-Cof...dDbGljaz10cnVl

Nanopresso - This is more like espresso, using hand-driven pump pressure to drive water through the grounds. My issues with it are that 1) espresso is more finicky when it comes to coffee grounds and freshness (are you going to carry a hand grinder and grind before brewing?), and 2) you're futzing around grinding beans and pouring scalding water in your tent or hotel room, which is a pain. It'll get far closer to espresso, if you want to put in the effort.

https://www.amazon.com/WACACO-Nanopr...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Handpresso - similar to the Nanopresso

https://www.wholelattelove.com/produ...so-wild-hybrid

Otto/The Little Guy - This is a very asthetically pleasing design from the 60's, which you should buy even if it doesn't fit your needs, because it's sexy AF. It actually has a load of design and ingenuity involved which allow it to brew actual espresso, unlike a Bialetti/moka pot, even though they're both stovetop brewers. It'll froth milk. Also, it's gorgeous. lol

https://www.thelittleguy.info/

Rok - this is a pretty popular device right now, or at least trendy. It's not really portable in the way a nanopresso is, but whatever, it's IG-worthy, gets you hipster cred, and by the way pulls a nice shot too.

https://www.rok.coffee/

Flair - want to one-up your Rok-owning hipster buddy? Here we are treading dangerously close to the land of vintage selvedge jeans and conspiciously ironic facial hair, but again, it'll brew a fine shot, while proving to be marinally suitable for travel.

https://www.amazon.com/Flair-Signatu...ace-8881249860

Nomad - yeah I don't even know, just saw it now while looking for something else. If you want to brew espresso on your desk, but hide the habit from your boss, this is a good option. Is it a paper punch? An overbuilt stapler? Meth cooker? No one needs to know!

https://www.amazon.com/UniTerra-Noma...0&tag=w050b-20

If you truly want to brew excellent coffee, yet travel light, this is your best option. It's not espresso, you'll be fine:

I love the Aeropress. I take it on biz trips and hiking/camping. If you like your coffee pressed - this is a great choice.
YMMV.
