There are some fantastic hole in the wall eateries in that area.

I don't know anything about them other than a flyer posted at work, but here is one possibility. Mad Shark Charters 912-223-1066 www.madsharkcharters.com

Good luck!

Trip went well. Lots of family time.
Heat and humidity was very high for me coming from the west. The water temp was high as well.
Nothing to report on fishing. I had reserved the boat charter on the next to last day and the captain had to cancel due to engine issues so no time to reschedule.
People were great.
Ended up giving my fishing gear I bought there to a 11B visiting from Ft. Stewart.
Thanks again for all the great info.

Best catch was the book The Creature From Jekyll Island.

Must read by anyone who wants to understand the Federal Reserve.

Did you go to the museum or the club house? Amazing to think about the Morgan's, Firestones etc. sitting around plotting.

We did 2 days of touring on bikes and went through many of the "cottages".

I am not easily amazed by the trapping of the wealthy but could appreciate the buildings for what they were.

The history of the island club is something that you have to discover on your own as the tours neglect to cover even the surface level information.

Glad you had a great time! Wish I could have visited with you, and hope I was able to help. I'm sure you probably really enjoyed our humidity and temps, lol.

It was hot and humid but the people and places were great.

Would have been happy to raise a glass with you.

If you ever travel out to NM, let me return the favor.

Rodman Guns

Thought I'd dredge up this Travel thread on Jekyll and show and tell about these 1898 Battery emplacements that I got the pleasure of finding over the last weekend there.

Built in a hurry during the Spanish American War. Several emplacements on several coastal sites around the area.

Thrown up in 1898, 1899 Hurricane comes along and lays the damn things on the ground. Apparently got righted sometime in the early 1960's. sans guns of course.
