It will be a late night tonight as I will read as much of this as I can.

I am also very glad I got the softcover version. The convenience of reading on the kindle is great - but having the hardcopy means I have a piece of history. Well done, Magician.
Thank you very much. :)

Purchased. Your writing from the 2005 era played a large role in my decision to enlist.

Just purchased the Kindle format. I'll pick up the hard copy as I have a bit of extra scratch laying around. Good on you for writing it all down.

I'll be purchasing the real book tonight! I've got chapters of stuff that I'd like to someday get put together, just never seems like there is time in the day and its a much harder process as I'm sure you know, than people think.

Looking forward to this and glad you got it done!

You are not the first person to tell me that. Very humbling. And scary.

I hope that you like the book. Thank you for buying it.

Great read so far through 5 chapters. Now I now why my old RSOV/Bike PSG would refered the JCT platoon as "monkey platoon". Rope Monkeys was a good way to call static lines jumpers. Thanks for writing Doc. I love the pictures from the old days with the jungles. Can't believe old Jimmy Pickering still looks the same today as he did back in the early 80's. He's around the area up here at JBLM. Next time I see him I'll tell him about the book if he doesn't already knows about it.

I was a proud "monkey biker" and loved it. Jump then ride!

Jimmy's wife just posted a photo of him yesterday on FB. He looks great.

It is funny, though. I have seen Jimmy use FB in the past, though sparingly. He does not seem to like digital platforms.

He is a giant in the Ranger community. I wanted to immortalize him. There are many more stories about Rangering Pickering coming in Book 3, Tales of the Rangers.

Thank you to everybody reading and sharing!

This is a very humbling experience.

Several folks reported reading it in one sitting, so it may not be as long as I feared.

I wanted to keep the reader's attention, as I know myself if a book cannot keep me reading I will not return to it unless it is really good. So I did prune parts of it and shift them to later volumes.

But then, this book pretty much wrote itself. Its organization emerged naturally. I was just the messenger.
