Outstanding. Simply outstanding. I was sitting here at home cheering the whole way.

Impressive! If you were going to drive a car on Mars, a Tesla would be a better choice than an old Vette because that Chevy will need oxygen for its 4-barrel to run. However, I didn't notice any parachute assembly, so if the car gets to Mars I don't think even Bo and Luke Duke could drive it after the landing it will make.

Wow. That is just the coolest.

Rewatched the syncronized booster landings like 3 times.

Actually, the Tesla Roadster "piloted" by Starman isn't going to land on Mars but will go into a perpetual Earth-Mars elliptical orbit around the sun.

I cannot believe those two boosters landed the way they did. Absolutely amazing. It's like stuff you see on scifi movies. The planning and attention to detail to pull that maneuver off is simply mindboggling.

That's the first thing I thought of when I heard he was going to launch a roadster with a dummy in a spacesuit on it for the payload.

Interesting but useless trivia! The landing legs on the Falcon Heavy are designed and built by All American Racers! Founded by Dan Gurney, AAR built Eagle race cars that won in Formula One, Indy, and sports cars! Dan passed away a few weeks ago! Since then we've had this successful launch and landing and the Philadelphia "Eagles" won the Super Bowl! Coincidence?😉

Those boosters coming down in unison...when I thought of what the future would be like as a little kid that was the kind of shit I envisioned.

They still haven't said anything about the main core; I'm guessing it landed hard and exploded, which wouldn't be the first time. I'm surprised they don't have eyes on the ship yet though.

At any rate, there's a parody Twitter account for the main core, and the posts are hilarious: https://twitter.com/FalconMainCore

He said during the post-flight press conference (livestreamed on ABC) that it hit the drink at 500 km/h due to running out of triethylborane, which is used to restart the engine.
