I'm not totaly certain, but I'm pretty sure Freddie Mercury didn't serve in the greek army, as he wasn't greek. He was born on the island of Zanzibar.

Alex Haley of "Roots" fame. He is a big figure in the Coast Guard. He enlisted in 1939 originally as a Mess Attendant 3rd Class until his other skills were recognized and served 20 years on active duty during WW2 and Korea. He also became the first Coast Guard journalist. When he retired in 1959 he had attained the rank of Chief Journalist. He also has a Coast Guard Cutter named after him the USCGC Alex Haley.

Aussie Actor, Charles "Bud" Tingwell. Royal Australian Airforce Fighter Pilot WWII flying Spits and Mossies ... IMB Bio has it slightly incorrect. Landed his first movie roll after swapping a Duty as Duty Officer at Williamtown and driving to Sydney for the audition. It was a War film and he owned his own uniform so got the part!

Doc Neeson of the Band The Angels. Australian Army

Aussie Actor Jack Thompson. Australian Army

That's but three off the top of my head.

Ohh almost forgot.....ME !!! I'll be signing autographs at Victory Green Bean tonight

Cheers,

AJ

Troy Collier, real name of the Alan Troy character in the movie "Jarhead" He was a buddy of mine and sadly he was killed in a car accident in Michigan after Desert Storm.
Not a Hollywood guy, he was more important than any of them.

Lewis Collins: 3.Para during the '70s/'80's (when it was still TA). Verified as RTU'd from 21.SAS immediately following Selection. His version of why he was RTU'd was that he was already too-high-profile; that may actually have been the case, but that doesn't rule out other reasons.

Lewis Collins played Bodie on the "Professionals", which ran in the early '80s on BBC. My son could not miss it. We were at RAF Machrihainsh for 3 years.

I think Psi Brr was pulling our legs on that one. He was in the Greek army but was upset when they shipped him out and he had to leave his buddie's behind.
