The older I get, the less I understand what an "expert" is.

Check him out. In addition to taking a trial class or two (which will probably be focused on some very basics) ask if you can watch a higher level classes to see what experienced students look like (from skill and fitness perspectives). If you like what you see, then there you go. You having some judo and life experience under your belt your instincts should be able to make a "would this really work for me" assessment.

Hell, I thought he was referencing UFC Fight Night 84, that London thing. Where bjj/mui tai were proven questionable.

Poison, after I asked that yesterday, I read your great posts in the "carrying un-chambered" thread. That is an entire thread worth reading! Good stuff. I asked because I have a training video somewhere, and in one fluid motion it made little difference.
There's that economy of motion thing again. I wonder if Jeet Kune Do exists in Arizona. LOL. I think I'll go watch a Bruce Lee movie.

It doesn't make a difference as long as that unnecessary extra step goes perfectly when it counts.

Haha, pretty much. It's not tactically better, that's for sure, but can add safety ie embassy security who may not shoot for 4 months at a time, etc.

Follow it up with John wick, taken, and man on fire, then go chop some wood, drink some bourbon, and smash your wife.

LOL! Dude you just named two of the four movies my dad (88 last friday, 65yr old girlfriend since mom died) and I watch every year at the holidays. The other two are Tombstone and True Grit.

Too damn hot for choppin wood, and I'd smash her properly, but she's not here cuz I make her (I mean she wants to...) work two jobs.

So it's usually just me and the dog, that's why I gotta find outlets like Krav (I Think) and Steel shooting. BTW, the Bruce Lee collection was hers, that's when I knew I had a keeper and married her 11yrs and 21days ago. LOL. First woman worth fighting for in a "scenario", instead of just shooting her in the foot and running like hell.

Being ex-judoka, (and it reminded me of my dad) so it hit home. The flemenco dancer theme insurance sales at the end, I thought was just comical. Overall, good post on all 4 vids in my opinion.

Since you already have a Judo background, IMO, I would say Japanese Ju Jutsu, (The parent of BJJ) may be easier to pick up and more along the lines of what your looking for but, some serious reading into DIM MAK (pressure/ joint control) wouldn't hurt either.

Used to do an hour of Japanese style after our Judo instruction.
It was pretty effective. Lots of use of the opponents Gi/clothes for submission. GOOD stuff!

Dim Mak? The "death touch art"? No No No!!
Maybe Chin Na which is seizing and controlling and great wrist locks but Dim Mak is BS.
