Axelson Tactical (I'm somewhat partial )
AAC
Rainier Arms

But it may be cheaper to build it yourself.

I put the new extractor spring and doughnut o ring in. No joy. I am shooting a Remington 120 grn target load.. So the tube length? should I replace it? What weight for the buffer?

AAC

The 9" SBR I have from them is straight flawlessly running on everything I've put through it. Suppressed w/ subsonic. Supersonic. I haven't tried the subs w/o suppression though.

Building an upper would be the best way to save cash though. The AR market appears to be really inexpensive right now.

BCM, Noveske, AAC, are a few. In reality you simply need a good KNOWN quality barrel. Everything after that is easy.

Anyone have thoughts on the .300BLK barrel offerings from Ballistic Advantage? I'm thinking about building one of these myself once I get some pennies stashed away.

BCM, AAC for mid-range price. For lower end, prices I am a fan of Aero Precision. AFAIK Aero is the actual manufacturer for several other brands (Rainer Arms, Spikes Tactical, SAA). I don't have a 300BLK from Barnes Precision, but my .223 Wylde from them is G2G.

Aero owns Ballistic Advantage and Aero makes uppers and lowers for several other companies on a variance.

I was gonna say the same.. I blew my chance to purchase a Ballistic Advantage lower last Dec. simply because I questioned its origins and didn't know who made them; had II didn't put off googling it and known it was an Aero manufactured lower, I would of snagged it in a heartbeat..

I really liked the BA Spade logo roll stamped on the lower too.

You guys damn sure know who's who in the business... who makes the 10.5" melonited .300 barrel that are sold by CMMG, because there's no maker's mark at all? Are they considered low-end? Got mine from Midway a couple of years ago for $129.

ETA: so far so good... no issues at all after about 1k rounds, both sub & Super.

300 AAC

The 300 AAC, is like a NASCAR restrictor plate. If you want to race Daytona, you better have one.

If your on Autobahn 5? Fuck that!

Good shooting

My bro has a .300AAC he got from Radical Firearms with a 10.3" melonited barrel and pistol length gas tube.

Apart from "Built by Radical Firearms Stafford, TX" stamped on the gen 1 aero lower, I have not seen any manufacturing marks to tell who made the barrel for radical??

It also has a flat-sided bcg - also melonited. The odd machined flat spot on the bolt is on the fwd part closest to
the breech- extractor side. I've only seen this machining on his AR pistol.

So,having bought an upper for 300 BLK, Lil gun seems the best powder for lighter supersonic loads and CFE BLK for the heavy stuff. Anyone have an experience and comments? S/F....Ken M
