Rifle, I'm a one eye, right eye dominant guy.

This thread intrigued me to put a box of 50 through the 19X yesterday. I always shot the same, one eye. I tried several methods. Come to find out if I just go front sight, bang I do well.

Always been a shotgun guy though.

I try for both eyes open, but I find myself closing the left eye.

I tried both yesterday with my P226. Did okay I was under 10 yards. I just took my time if I missed I found I would close one. Once I hit I'd open both. Don't know if I'll get used to it but it was challenging.

Both eyes open; less muscle strain, better situational awareness; kill kill. If you can use the force and Skywalker it with both eyes shut, have at it so long as the threat is neutralized...

When I began shooting skeet competitively I noticed almost all the top shooters were both eyes open. I am left handed and could not seem to get myself to leave my right eye open. A guy suggested I put a piece of scotch tape over the right lense of my shooting glasses. By doing so it blurred the right eye vision enough to allow my dominant left eye to take over and focus while leaving my right eye open. After several months I removed the tape and was able to shoot both eyes open. You can definitely pick up targets coming from your "blindside" much quicker.

Just an old Marine with his 6 shooter
I ordered a 40” Marine belt, with medallions as my holster belt

When I shoot a lot, both eyes open. If it's been a while I start off squinting my non-dominant eye until muscle memory kicks in and I get into a rhythm.
