Not to get to far off from the OP's original post. The 45 in the g21 is ok from the factory but their are a lot of companies doing a lot of neat things for the glock. Taran tactical has some nice stuff. Wolf barrels and kkm barrels are great. We here in Phoenix AZ have a store called Glockmiester. They cater to glock owners. The after market barrels are great for freeloaders. They support the entire case so there is not glock bulge. Less to deal with when u are going to reload the case.

For .45 Super, what needs to be done to a G21?
I ASSume heavier RSA? Anything else?

I might try this in my USP C or XDM also.

Don’t think the 21 is rated for the .45 Super

I contacted Glock about this a couple years ago regarding .450 SMC (.45 Super). Their response was that the Glock 21 did not support any .45 Super cartridges due to the unsupported chamber. They suggested an after market barrel from KKM, heavier recoil spring (22-26lb) and guide rod.

Jesus that is a stout spring! 26 pounds? Wow!

My race gun 45 1911 has a 15# spring and I swapped it out for a 12# to shoot frangibles at Thunder Ranch a few years ago (no-lead range).

A 26# must be very stiff to cycle by hand....

Glock suggested a non Glock part?!? Truly we are in the end of days...

Surprises me too. Sounds like a lawsuit if anything goes wrong.

Guess I'll use a USP or XDM then. Or borrow a USC.

I took the armorer's class a little while back and the instructor shit all over non OEM parts as if they were all garbage and only dipshits used any of them, and would instantly guarantee NDs, impotence, male pattern baldness etc.

I had a G23 slide lock spring break while at the range. Finished shooting the mag and went to set the pistol on the bench and the slide lock just fell to the floor.
I field stripped it and took it to the resident Glock 'armorer' who blamed my Wolf recoil spring.
I just took my gun back and left....

Pretty much what I've seen w/hunting feral boar hogs. The LeHigh entry is very similar to a wadcutter & on the backside. You can see the radial tears, in the cardboard. That's what I've seen on the inside of boars, around an 1"-2" tears in tissue.

Good shooting
Film of me actually shooting the comparison (ie +P .45 ACP vs .45 Super) w/my G30 w/KKM .45 ACP barrel. Not a significant difference, in recoil. I was using a Wolff 23lb recoil spring.

Good shooting

.50 GI goes in the “just because you can doesn’t mean you should” category. If I want more juice than a G21, I take my G20.

I fight the urge once a week to buy the 50 GI kit.
If an ammo company ever picks it up......

If .50 GI ever becomes easily available at prices close to .45 ACP, and .50 GI magazines become readily available, I'll consider revising my assessment.

On that same day, I'll be driving my Prius to a Greenpeace protest, with my therapy rooster in a child safety seat.
