UAV operators

My nephew is joining the Army as a UAV mechanic/ operator. He had a meeting with the Major in charge of the recruiting area last night.

They told him that his MOS can be in a Ranger unit. He has not said one way or another about serving in a Ranger Battalion and asked me a few question (I am a Ranger school grad) . I attempted to explain the difference between being Ranger qualified and serving in a Ranger Unit.

I just want to ensure that the officer is not giving him a line of shit or there is a miscommunication between what was said and what he understood.

Does the Ranger Regt have UAV mechanics / operators in the ranks?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your help. Mods, please close thread as I have my answer.

Without getting in to specifics, there's an organic UAS capability in 75th.

Lots of UAV options in all of USASOC. Different roles, different platforms, different organizations. High demand, both in and out of the mil. Retention is hard when an E-4 is sitting next to a contractor that just ETS’ed and is making low/mid 6 figures while only working 6 months a year. It’s a good gig.

Same situation ten years ago with USMC UAS operators.
