Nike SFB Jungle boots

Has anyone had any experience with the Nike SFB Jungle boots?

I'm debating on buying a pair, but I am torn between those and the regular Nike SFB Gen 2s.

Thank you,

PSYOP Shaw

I'd have to know what activities you are planning on wearing them for...

Darby and Swamp phases of Ranger school.

I would stick with the Nike SFB Gen 1 which ive worn for a while, but my current pair just started busting around the toes. They won't be serviceable for much longer.

I highly recommend Garmont T8 boots. Nike boots are tennis shoes (as are many of the brands out there), and are not up to serious wear. I wore Garmont T8 boots from 2007 until retirement a few weeks ago, in every environment except extreme cold weather (that's 4 tours in AF, plus Africa and several countries in Latin America). There is no better boot made for swamp conditions.

Ranger school used to be pretty specific about what boots you could wear (used to be jungles or black leather leg boots only). I'm sure you are up on what is currently allowed there.

Just had a gander at the Nike website "discontinued."
Have a squiz at Tactical Research, Belleville TR900 Jungle Runner Hot Weather Lightweight Boot, minimal use of leather.

Bellevilles are another brand solidly in the "tennis shoe" category.

Thanks Gavin!

I bought a set of the Garmont T8 Bifidas for Mountains, and a set of the Garmont T8 Extreme Weather in place of cold weather boots.

I might just rock the Garmont T8s through every phase.

Update: Rocked the Nike SFB Gen 2 boots through RAP and Darby, until they melted.

Yes, melted, some jack off kicked my boots to close to the burn barrel while we were standing on the rocks freezing our balls off.

Boots were amazing for the obstacle course, water events, ruck, and that small swamp at Darby.

Stuck it out with the T8s and T8 Extreme weather boots for the rest of the course.

And yes, since the Ranger packing list requires 3 pair of boots, I lugged around a pair of melted Nikes until Victory Pond.
