Brenthaven bags have a lot of protection. I've had a couple over the years. Good quality. I like Tumi too but the new ones have less protection.

The first thing I break is usually the clips for the shoulder strap (which get tywrapped together until something else breaks). The Envoy looks in the picture like it doesn't have the chincy clips.
Nothing chincy on these. They have sling bags that also have conventional briefcase handles, that should help issue with already carrying a backpack.

I now use a 5.11 courier bag (The X version) it has served me well that past 6 months or so, but I will reserve judgement until after its one year mark. They seem to be on sale, maybe they are discontinuing them?

Have you looked at Helikon-Tex? Some of the guys returning from Poland showed me pouches and bags. Cordura quality and cheap. Picked up some and surprised by the quality.
