Damn...just saw that. Saw him quite a few times over the years .....always liked him, his music and his message.

The one time I attended the 'Fiddlers Convention' in Union Grove, NC (some of you here must've heard of that spectacular ), it seemed that every band played 'Orange Blossom Special'...

R.i.P. Charlie!!

I saw him play when he visited the USS Roosevelt in 1993. It was a pretty good show. I still remember that his bow started coming apart while he was playing and commented that he hoped it lasted through the show. As it turned out, a big fan of his was upfront with his fiddle and offered his bow to Charlie who played the rest of the show with it before returning it to the Sailor.

Glad I got to see him twice at the Volunteer Jam within the last 5 years. He was still bringing it in his upper 70s.

True legend for sure...even though I'm not a country fan, I can appreciate the contributions Mr. Daniels made to music on the whole.

He also used his celebrity to help student veterans at Middle Tennessee State University. There's a 3,200 sqft area he helped get funding to set up that was named in honor of him and his wife for use by vets and military family members. It's a great resource for getting all the GI Bill stuff squared away, having a dedicated place to study, peer network with vets at the university, and get ready to go out into the workforce.

There was never a doubt about his love for the military, police, and first responders.

A sad day here in Middle Tennessee.

RIP Charlie

Damn. He was the second concert I had ever attended when I was 11 or 12. Always been a big fan.

RIP, Mr. Daniels.

Three legends I listened to growing up.

Hank Jr.
Waylon
Charlie Daniels

Sad to see another one go, but grateful for their music, and their love for this country and it's people.

RIP Brother.

"We’re sitting on the upstairs porch looking at the northern horizon and watching America light up, fireworks going off all over the place.

You may tear down statues and burn buildings but you can’t kill the spirit of patriots and when they’ve had enough this madness will end."

This is sad to read
He was one of my favorite country musicians
There was never any doubt he was a firm supporter of first responders and our men and women in uniform

I also read that he was a rabid Univ Of TN fan.

I am mad that I never got to attend one of his concerts
