I did beef stew on the Weber for my wife on Mother's Day. I asked her what she wanted for dinner, we could go get dinner or I can cook her something, She opted for my beef stew.

I dredged the meat in flour, s&p, garlic powder and onion powder. I put the charcoal in a ring around the edge, Put the dutch oven on the grill and got it all nice and hot. I browned the meat then put it on the grill to get it charred a bit. I de glazed the pan with some red wine vinegar and then a can of Full Suspension Pale Ale.
Once that reduced a bit and scraping all the good brown bits, I put the meat back in with some beef broth. I let that simmer for about an hour. Then came the veggies, onions, carrots, celery, corn, peas, potatoes and then just let all that simmer for about another hour or so.I served it up with some french bread. Turned out pretty damn good for not following a recipe.

Well, this is the end of my first week on a totally weed supplement diet. This morning I had, stinging nettles, queen anne's lace, dandelion flowers, and young plantain shoots in my meat and eggs. So far so good......

I can’t wait until I retire so I can make that my diet! I’d do it now but if I got hurt on the job site and filed for Workmen’s Comp, I’d have to piss. Big :-)

That "weed" grows here too, not up yet, but very edible and good in teas, and probably will not ruin a pee test!

The edible "weed" I eat around here is Hemp. It grows wild , everywhere. Leftover from the WWI and II era when it was a cash crop around here. Very viable food source and source for clothing fiber and animal feed and should never have been taken off of the cash crop list for farmers, IMHO!

Hopefully I can send peeps home with some Elk meat. So far 3 of us have tags. Idaho has 10 tags left for the zone we will be in.
