Movies with Father

Today I took my father to see Ford vs Ferrari.

As waiting for the movie to start we reflected on several movies just the two of us saw together. The best movies. Significant impacts on my life actually. Seems all the movies actually been to theatre with are that way. Of course many movies we watched on TV at home after renting, but the theatre ones are memorable.

Star Wars. Was in 4th grade and dad took me to see.

Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was in 8th grade.

Uncommon Valor. Took me there for my 16 th birthday, after stopping at a local scuba shop to be me a mask, flippers, and dive knife

Dances with Wolves. Went to go see this right before I re-enlisted and shipped off for SF 18X program.

I also have fond memories of going to the movies with my dad. By the time I was 10 or 11, hed take me to see anything, regardless of the rating. We dont go to the theater much anymore but we do get together and watch movies on the big screen TV.

I also had good times going to the movies with my son as he was growing up.

When we were little we used to go to the drive in all the time.
Dad had a black and yellow AMC Gremlin with a hatch back.

I remember seeing Star Wars and I believe Raiders of the Lost Ark at the drive in.

A few years later, I somehow convinced my father to take me to see Ice Pirates.

When my father came to Richmond to run a short term construction project, we hit the movies one evening to kill time.

We narrowed the choices down to the Bucket List and Rambo. My father chose the Bucket List because he was in the mood for a comedy.

The last movie we watched together was The Nice Guys at the old house in Cols, OH.

Smokey and the Bandit is the first grown up movie I remember going to see; my dad and I saw it at the drive in theater outside of Oxen Hill MD when I was 10 YO.

Best movie in the history of the world.

The one I remember the most was seeing Jaws in Cape Cod. Then going to the beach the next day. Didn't do much swimming lol.

My Grandfather took me to the movies all the time.

Apocalypse Now, Uncommon Valor and Full Metal Jacket stand out for me.
