Great comment!
Actually, as I sit here waiting for 5 o'clock (for some reason) I am wearing a t shirt I just bought from Amazon, with a 101st patch and a Ranger tab.

Just for the sake of conversation, what size boots do you wear?

Unhappy Christmas Day.

Unless you had a patrol on Christmas Day with a “long” tab.

Yeah, John Schuko was in C Co, arrived after we completed George Conrad's 1st North Fort RIP class in Feb 79, and he was in whichever line platoon was on the 3rd floor. He was a Golden Gloves boxer from Boston, IIRC... he was the only guy in BN, probably all of Ft. Lewis, who could spar with Dynamite Fagaata (RIP) without getting himself killed.

No pictures of Robert Rogers, he never graduated.

We had a kid, went to OJC with us, his literal name was Robert Rogers.

Never any issues on anything we did, damn fine SAW gunner. We sent him twice, never did pass.

Told him we would have to send him down the road as he'd never be in a leadership position. He said.. "Sergeant, I'm not re-enlisting and I love being a SAW gunner". So, I kept him till he ETS'ed.

Stay in contact with him to this day, fly's helicopters as a civilian now. Which is mind boggling.. Damn fine Ranger, tab or no tab.

No, Dynamite was in BCo, 1st Plt 75-78. I do not think he ever left B Company.

Last time I saw him was walking down the road at Ft. Benning in 1985. He didn't say he was assigned to the 3rd, as I recall, but guess he was.

He died about 5 years ago, Poly. Stroke, IIRC. His FB page is still up.

Yea, he was 3/75 for sure in 87/88. Found the main page - I don't do FB though. Thanks.

You were one of my RIP Instructors which totally qualifies you as an old fuck. I somehow managed not catching any scunion from you but Okumura made up for it.

Just a thought- does the Ranger Tab I pinned on my son qualify as an 'old tab' since I bought it in 1983 when I reentered service and kept it in my wallet until DC 2007?

Never told him I bought it until the night before graduation and asked him if he wanted me to pin 'my' tab on him or 'his'? He chose his...

So did you Sailors and Marines who earned the tab sew your tab underneath your shirt ‘s front pocket flap? So is there, but concealed. I have heard this was the tradition to do so, since could not wear on your shoulder..
