Thanks for sharing that, not many left, but always a treat to sit down and talk with the WW2 Veterans. God Bless Them.

Yes, it is. I was at the VA in Richmond in 2009 for an appointment prior to my back surgery. Was waiting next to a WWII veteran. Thanked him for his service. Was wearing a Navy hat, USS (I don't remember the ship) but he was an anti-aircraft gun crew leader, I think in Leyte Gulf. He said a Kamikaze flew into the ship killed all the crew but him. Survivor guilt. He was crying, had me teared up.

I love the old stories. I had a book my Grandma gave me at about 10 years old. A Pictoral History of WWII.
I studied it hours on end but lost it over the years. Great book.

Thumbs up

Thanks for post Jong. My uncle(RIP) was in the 38th ID, the "Avengers of Bataan" and was wounded in the battle of Zig-Zag Pass. He stayed Army and later fought in Korea and Vietnam.

Near the end is an interesting photo of an M4 Sherman carrying the remains of what looks like a Japanese light tank (possibly a Ha Go ?) above the Sherman's engine. I wonder who put that thing up there?
