Current PSYOP Info

I just gave a brief introduction of myself in another thread, but I'm currently a Night Stalker and intrigued to say the least about dropping my packet to attend psyop a/s. I have read through many threads and most of them seem to be dated. I'm not hung up on getting G2 from the a/s course, and from what I gather it changes frequently. If any current psyoper's could inbox me I would like to know some general pipeline/post pipeline questions. Thanks in advance!

Unless the two of you intend to whisper sweet loud speaker messages in each other's ear, why not post it all here, in the clear. That way the same question does not have to be answered via PM over and over and over and over and over and over an....

See my point?

Lmao! This just serves to remind me to get out of my bubble in Ops and stick my nose back into SWCS and the training base.

Roger, I only sent the PM due to the fact that is what he requested is all.

Here's the info I sent him for all you "hopeful" PSYOPers:
1. Yes Bragg will be your permanent duty station for the rest of your PSYOP career. Although there are "Planner" positions at other posts, those are normally reserved for senior E-6's/E-7s. Learn to love it here.
2. You will likely deploy within 6 months of graduating, welcome to special operations.
3. Yes there will always be some form of the "Big Army" game you'll play, there's no getting away from it.
4. On the "+" side, you'll jump MC-6 parachutes, not T11's

Anything that is worth noting that I forgot, please note it.

-MB

Thanks for info. I just have a couple more questions..

1. I'm currently SERE-C qualified from Ft. Rucker, so would I have to attend the course at Bragg?
2. During the pipeline do students get any say in their tactical or strategic posting?
3. How frequent are slots for DLI, Sapper, or Ranger afforded to the PSYOP community?

You wont be getting a slot to SAPPER as it serves no purpose to the community. Your posting will be heavily influenced by the needs of the unit. Id be more worried about being a guy who the instructors want to work with again in the future and therefore clue in their CSMs across the street to look out for near to graduation.

Your SERE-C fulfills any of our requirements.
You will be assigned according to control language and/or IAW the current needs of the Regiment.
DLI is a possibility after earning your keep in the force.
Ranger school is easily attained through your Group schools via recommendation of your CoC.
Sapper course isn't going to happen.
