Sirs: a question about an Airman

I noticed this Capt.'s ribbon rack appears to be upside-down.

Not sure how it would be overlooked. I'm an admin on a sort of collector page on fb, and am looking to make sure this fellow is the real deal. Thank you.

And a goatee to go with his purple heart and Master Wings...

I am the captain of my soul.

Yes sir. Along with his great gatsby/80s banker shirt. I cropped the pic, but in the full image he looks to be about 3 full spins, or at least tipping the scales at around 280 or so.

Why would someone pretend to be Air Force?

In addition to the other foul ups, the wings would be above the ribbons. He would most likely have another function badge besides the wings. When I was in, Master Parachutist was not an AFSC.

Dude is messed up like a football bat.

Is that guy also wearing a white shirt? The only time you wear a white shirt that I know of was to a formal ball and then you'd have a bow tie as well.

To be a Captain, if he is even that, he is missing a few ribbons that are given over time to Captain. Even if he is prior enlisted i don't see anybody making those mistakes, even drunk off their ass. To have that set of jump wings he would have had to be prior enlisted which would make things even worse.

More oak leaf clusters than the tree in my back yard! Can anyone ID the one in the middle with 4 clusters?

All I can make out on my machine is the gold border and on probably 9 out 10 AF guys it'll be an expeditionary medal.

See if any of these look better.

Wow, this guy's a real stud. Looks like an AF DSM with OLC. Most folks only get one in their career, assuming they get one at all. Purple Heart, AFCOM.

The one with the 4 OLC looks like a Presidential Unit Citation,

And the upper right looks like a ROK War Service Medal. That would be one old Captain.

Could be. I have one but to my knowledge it is not awarded individually in order to get OLCs. I do not believe a unit award gets those even if awarded it multiple times. I'm talking Army, so maybe AF is different.

AFPC says it is, at least for us. Looking at the criteria I think 4 OLC might be a bit of a stretch unless he's been in since WWII.

Used to be you could wear it as an individual award if you were assigned to the unit when the unit received the award. So, if it is a PUC, the guy would have been assigned to a unit or series of units that totalled five awards. I'm not sure there are any units out there that have 5 and it would be highly unlikely for an AF guy to serve in 5 AF units awarded the PUC.
