Not yet. We are working on getting both military tuition assistance and GI bill approval. Also, our GSA schedule should be up and running by summer.

This course itself does not certify the student as an EMT. What it does is prepare and authorize the student to take the EMT certification test for NREMT. The testing is through a 3rd party called Pearson Vue. (www.pearsonvue.com) They are located in all 50 states (in most major metropolitan areas). Once the EMT course is successfully completed, your name is provided to Pearson Vue and you'll be allowed to take your certification test approximately 2-3 weeks after successfully completing the course.

If you are seeking a state certification, please check with your State Health District to determine if they have reciprocity with NREMT. If they do, you're good to go. If they do not, you'll have to get direction on what the roadmap is for state EMT certification in your area.

Is this a course covering EMT-Basic or is it covering EMT-85/Intermediate?

Haven't done any online stuff with JTM but been through their Advanced/SOF Med refresher. Great program. Jim (owner) and the guys/ladies there run a smooth/professional operation.

Do you know if their Advanced EMT course is equivalent to the EMT 85 standard? They have been unresponsive but this is the most logical answer I can surmise.

The course I was referring to is not an initial education program.

However, in response to your question, EMT-I 85/99 no longer exists. The curriculum has been combined and the title of the certification has been renamed to "Advanced EMT (AEMT)".

Just got word from our online programs manager that we will be offering the Online version of the "Advanced EMT" course starting in August, 2012 for open enrollment. To say that we are excited about this would be an understatement. Our customers have been very patient in waiting for this course and full details will be on our website in the upcoming week. Any questions or comments, please call our registrations office @ (888) 374-7808...talk to Sheree for assistance. Again guys, thanks for your patience and trust in JTM for getting this program up and running.

Looking at starting my EMT training with these guys and going for my EMT-I eventually. So far they have been great with answering all my questions. Anybody else that has worked with them care to share their experience?

Thanks,

Ax

Axman,
I just did the PHTLS/TCCC Instructor with them in Oct. I have nothing but good things to say about the course and also the instructors. I have also been telling guys to get into the EMT Intermediate online training if they want to get their certification. The courses I have done in the past have always been great and I wholeheartedly will recommend them to everyone who asks.

Does anyone know if they're going to get approved for GI Bill acceptance anytime soon?

Might want to just call them and ask (and post what you find out here).

Yeah I already did that through email. Was told no they didn't accept it. The person that emailed me only worked there for a couple of months though. So I was hoping it wasn't true from another source.
