Cop gets rolled while partner watches

Thought's on the partner's response...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQNw2QS85gQ

The only remote justification for this is it being a "prove yourself" moment for the young guy or if he's heavy handed and the older guy is sick of it. I don't like that either and that would never happen here but hey, New Orleans.

If the older guy is just lazy (he doesn't look nervous or intimidated) he should probably be fired.

Dino might be right, but you shouldn't let it get that far. If that was the case, that's for a private debrief after the fact, along the lines of "You see, you continually write checks your ass can't cash. That badge does NOT make you Superman and one day one of us won't be there to stop it. Cool your jets."

The first officer looked a little to old for that attitude, and the 2nd was WAAAYYY to nonchalant about it.

Yup. My good friend was murdered in his patrol car while working for that department. That is a painful thing to watch.

Many moons ago my boss man used to tell the new guys, “Get your hands out of my fucking pockets.” It was his way of saying, stop standing around and spending my money and go do your fucking job! I’m thinking this applies to this situation.

Nope, no justification for not backing up your partner. Want to fuck with him, teach him a lesson? Do NOT do it when interacting with the public.

The TBL is there for a reason, and showing people it has weak spots leads to anarchy and democrats.

Holy fuck. I can't find any way to justify the second officer's actions. You always back up your partner. If there's going to be a fight, everyone piles in.

If it's a little scuffle and you think you need to be watching everyone else instead of focusing inward, okay. Not when you're partner's getting his ass wailed on though.

Cop #2 should have tazed him when Cop #1 was struggling. Notice the punk was kicking and screaming like a little school girl when a little comeuppance came his way.

I think itís deplorable conduct, and the definition of what a partner shouldnít do.
