Baseball 2020

The Giants have hired their first female assistant coach. She has been with the Giants in a different capacity prior to her coaching assignment. She played softball at CSU Sacramento.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ch/4493625002/

Let's see how she does.

Lot's of coaches never played the sport they coach. She at least knows what it's like to hit, catch, and, field. I hope she doesn't do well, not because she's female, but because I dislike the Giants, haha. Then she can go to STL and do well, haha

I'm looking forward to baseball season. I detest the NFL and NBA, so that only leaves me with college basketball between Jan-April.

Congratulations to “The Captain”, Derek Jeter, on his election to the Baseball Hall Of Fame, garnering 396 of a possible 397 total votes...

I've been a Red Sox fan since my father taught me how to second guess the manager's decisions as a little boy,I really hope we find out who didn't vote for Jeter, and then ignore them forever after. No interviews, no Twitter angst, no speaking engagements. If it becomes public, it's for the attention, and that should be denied.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but always like Jeter's approach. Not a lot of lip flapping, just play hard.

Watched Jeter in spring training here in Tampa for a few years. He always led by example. It was common to watch him running sprints before the game during warmups. He went out before anyone else and continued running them after everyone else stopped. This just a couple of years before his retirement after winning all those World Series. The dude played ball to win.

It looks like Dusty Baker will be managing the Astros this season.

I really like Dusty Baker. Have ever since he played with the Dodgers in the 70's. But, I think he's the Dan Reeves of baseball. Get you there a lot, but never win the big one. I hope he can get it done down there.
