I have a book called "Genghis Kahn Emperor of All Men" written by Harold Lamb, published in 1927. Awesome book.
I have that very edition, and it is indeed awesome.

His 1928 single volume, The Earth Shakers combines (1)The March of the Barbarians, which includes the Genghis book, Batu, Kublai, the Golden Horde, and through Peter the Great, with (2) his excellent biography, Tamerlane.

Harold Lambs works on this subject are superb and richly sourced.

Try "Empire of the Steppes: A History of Central Asia". A bit of a doozy for a hardcore fan.

I did not finish it. It is a hard-read.

It was originally written in French, then translated into English.

There are many alternate names for the same roving horse-mounted peoples, from Chinese languages, to Mongolic languages, to Turkic languages, and on into European languages. Hard to keep track of who's who in the world of horse-archers.

Still, I'd say it belongs on the shelf of any Historian interested in this subject.
