Yes, I have seen his videos. Good info. He is about a 2 hour drive north of me though.

I don't know why but I thought they were closer. I went on their website and they have both models in stock. Prices are standard list though.
I want to shoot it....

Probably order one from a store we have here, that has an indoor range. Free month of range time with any firearm purchased. Kind of interesting on how AUG and Tavor prices have not really come down, unlike the AR market. There does seem to be more of a surplus of them, but they still sell. IWI sure did make a good profit with the Tavors being offered to the civilian market.

In my quest to reduce my gun collection, I'm thinking of getting either an X95 or AUG. It seems like the X95 has better ergonomics and a handy spot to mount a light. From what I've been told the AUG is more accurate.
Have any of you guys accumulated experience with both?
I've got some accurate long range guns so this weapon would fill a 0-200 yard role for me and would probably end up suppressed.

I prefer the SAR over the 95. Some things I like more with the AUG, some things Tavor better. You can get the tavor in 300 blackout, if going suppressed is something you may want to consider.

Be nice if someone made a .300 barrel for AUGs.

I was just reading that the X95 and SAR shoot 4-5" groups at 100 yards. Kind of sloppy for such an expensive rifle. Consistent grouping under 2" would be acceptable to me. Any personal experiences here?

I plan to mess with the Steyr booth at SHOT about this. Just like I did last year....

It's like they look to H&K for their product development philosophy....

Usually people are getting 1.5-2" inch groups with the Tavor, once they get rid of the "cqb/Israel conscript " stock trigger and replace with a aftermarket trigger. But if you go that route plan on adding couple hundred dollars. Where as a $30 fix will smooth the AUG trigger pull.

Well, I ordered one in green. Got a good deal with responder discount. Plan on putting an ACOG TA44 with ACSS reticle. Will have it in two weeks. I'll report in on it once I've had a chance to work with it.
