My bedroom gun is an 870. No time to look for glasses if something goes bump in the night. Getting old sucks. In the spirit of this thread I should get some bling for it, it's pretty plain right now. Just plain fuck you up.

I don’t know if it’s that drastic. There’s always full auto with a 100rd drum and service the area target till the moaning stops

You don't need any bling, you just need a round of rubber buckshot loaded first. That way when the family comes around with their civil liberties law suit, you can testify you escalated your level of violence commensurate with the threat...you yelled stop, nothing, raised the weapon, nada, engaged with the non-lethal rubber buckshot, bad guy kept-a-coming, finally, you were forced, as much as it pained you, forced to engage with the last and fatal option...it was the perp's fault, not yours...just sayin'

I have 40 acres and a land fill, so we have some capacity.

Get good at that.

Then you may take a look at optics, not before.

Prior to this they didn't know how to properly use the optics that were issued. This cuts both ways.

Yep. Optics are a tool that enhances a working weapon system. Iron sights are an inherent vital part of the system.

Be great with the iron and you'll be better with the optics. But one needs the basis first.

However, none of my pistols have any type of optics/aiming aids (yet?), but I'm going to the doc to inquire about getting my arms extended.

Time

Time & down range effect.

That would include, decision time; which, I think is the most important variable. Stickers on the back window of your P/U truck, t-Shirts, your investment in multi-cam, don't impact that.

It's over dramatized; but, that sells.

I have, 5 handguns w/RMRs. 0-5m I see the handgun and the intended POI. Where it comes in handy, is limited vis & targets in depth: POI focus/significant reduction in time, ref intended shot placement.

Ref.-0-20m? There are always circumstances, etc (ie that sells), 3" 12 guage, 00 Dead Coyote. Harder than steel & heavier than lead. When the smoke clears..you put a buster dip in, & put your hand on their chest.

Good shooting

MCRD should teach irons. SOI/whatever they call it now should teach the glass if it was an issue. In no way shape or form should they have dropped irons from the ciriculumn. Basic training is just that --- BASIC 101 how to be a Marine. Just my grunt opinion though.

If a soldier or Marine has an IQ above fungus, teaching him how to use an ACOG is about a 3 minute job if he has already mastered irons.
