Should have promoted him to O-6, then dropped him somewhere in desolation at the G-3/5/7 over at First Army to coordinate paperwork for Guard and Reserve training exercises and get glowered at by some crusty combat arms NCO on a profile riding out time to retirement.
Yup.

Promotion to obscurity.

Now, he's a talking piece.

Ever look at a guy and before he ever even opens his mouth you know he's an elitist asshole? That's what I see when I look at Vindeman.

The article I read said his lawyer was claiming Trump smeared his career, etc, yadda, yadda. I don't recall having a lawyer when I retired.

Curious, has he served 30 years? Thought I remember somewhere that retired officers with less than 30 years were still subject to the UCMJ while in retirement.

Yes, we are subject, Enlisted and Officer till the 30 year point. 30 years is when you officially retire.
USN, 20 to 30 years you are in the Fleet Reserve for example, and they can recall you..
I am sure there is a little difference in how each branch and type of Officer/Enlisted is viewed once they get out.
My Dad did 30 years, but was recalled less than 5 years after retiring for 1st Gulf war. Just a notice, he could have been called, not actually called back in.

Here is a case going on right now. Guy is retired, working as a contractor in Okinawa, charged by NCIS under UCMJ. Not sure of the reasoning behind it.

Fleet Marine Corps Reserve (FMCR) for us. I got a nice little letter and a very fancy certificate when I finally hit my 30 year mark and actually "retired".

The FBI arrested some people in Ohio today in a $60 million bribery case.

A former GOP chair, who was investigated in 2004 over campaign finance issues related to the former state treasurer. He set up a PAC to support Biden in the upcoming election.

An energy lobbyist.

A longtime advisor to the Ohio House Speaker.

The Ohio House Speaker, Larry Householder.

The USA for the Southern District of Ohio.

Holy crap, what a mess. Householder was investigated back in 2004 but left office during the investigation. Came back a few years ago, and here we are. The investigation covered the state’s $1 billion nuclear plant bailout and Householder’s maneuverings to secure support to lead the House.

The USA had a hell of a career. He was part of the Hussein tribunal, and helped knock down a major gang in Columbus.

Frigging mess.

I was sent a link to a website called Gateway Pundit.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...ing-huge-drop/

is this a legit website or a crackpot website? It's alleging that AG Barr and the POTUS are about to drain the swamp on major corruption.

Gateway Pundit is slightly more legit than a blog site. But, it's referenced a lot in Right circles. Authors there are not necessarily journalists, if that frames it for you.
