KBSS- KABUL BALKH SAFETY & SECURITY OGRGANIZATION

Has anyone had any experience with this company and know if they will be filling slots for a recent contrat award. I've checked the KBSS web site but interested in anyone with first hand experience working with them.

Looks like its for indigenous personnel - aka Afghans. From the SOW on the FBO link:

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Utilizing indigenous personnel from the area surrounding the performance location, the Contractor shall provide internal security for Camp Delaram. Security shall include defending all equipment, personnel, and property, whether military and/or civilian in nature as contained therein.

All in all sounds like a really crappy plan given the incidents of green on blue.

I happen to know one of the Project Manager's for their work on the NAT contract. He actually handles the work for 17 different companies on the TO. He's a Tajik, a very solid individual and well connected.

I've never heard of them employing any expats for work. They also get hit... a lot. So I'm sure if you were willing to work for somewhere between $500 and $600 a month, speak Dari and are fond of communal living, I could get you hired.

The APPF is another story completely. They are a miserable failure at their mission and just another way for selected Afghans to get rich. There have been multiple exceptions to the requirements to hire APPF for security put out by both the USG and ISAF. While I don't know if Delaram is one of them, I know Phoenix, Eggers and several other Kabul site are still allowed to hire "non-PSC" local security companies. (Yes, I know that's a contradictory statement, but this is Afghanistan, so it makes sense to them).

Be safe,

DR

Phoenix has an American company for security. I work for that company and am typing this from Camp Phoenix. I think Eggers has BSS.

Did Reed lose the contract at Phoenix? Last time I checked they were running perimeter security and were South African.

No, Reed has the contract. Maybe I misread your post, but Reed is "American-owned", the management (Site Manager and Ops Officers [Me]) are Americans with clearances, there are a few South Africans and Brits as Shift Supervisors with Afghan guards and some TCNs. Same thing with Julien.
