"Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"

Simply put...one of the best films I've seen in a very long time.

I've always like McDormand, Harrelson, John Hawkes, and Rockwell--each one seems to thrive in the off-beat characters.

Looking forward to watching it. The trailer partially reminded me of “In the valley of Elah“, great movie as well

Not your typical movie. I liked it.

I predict an eventual "cult classic".

But was it entertaining and good to watch? Seen a lot of movies that were different and interesting, but are terrible and not really worth my time entertainment wise.

Went ahead and downloaded, cause had couple hours in waiting room needed to kill. Should have waited until rental. Meh. Had it's moments, but disturbing at times. And the intentional dish onthe Catholic Church was uncalled for. Crappy ending also- like no ending just setting up for a sequel. Meh... The movie tried to be another Fargo, but missed the mark.

The circumstances of Mildred's daughter notwithstanding, she just seemed a little too unrelentless to the end. Agree on the anti-religious message. I wasn't aware of that part of the South being so Catholic in the first place. Woody Harrelson played a great part. I always like him most in the roles like this one, where he is more down to earth and not so eccentric. I thought it did a good job at capturing small town social politics. A good first date flick. I'd give it 3.5 out 5 stars.

This is another one of those movies that gets rave reviews, but IMO winds up falling flat on its face. Reminds me of all the hype about a flick from Australia called Animal Kingdom(which is actually better as a series, with Ellen Barkin in the lead role).

I tried to see what was so great about this flick, and in the end it just became a tedious exercise of watching Frances McDormand go from one extreme situation to the next, with really no context other than she was pissed off that the police hadn't solved her daughter's murder.

I'd like to know exactly what it was that people thought was so great about this movie, because I'm not seeing it.

Coen brothers need to make another movie, fast, with those two in the lead roles.

I liked it for the most part, right up until the ending, which annoyed me.

Yeah me as well. The movie itself was okay, but I thought Woody, Francis and Sam did really well in those roles.

Awhile back someone started an 'Underrated Actor/Actress' thread and one of mine was Sam Rockwell. Glad to see him get his due. His body of work is well done IMO.

I completely agree. I liked Woody’s role but that was about it. McDormand gave a good performance but I didn’t like her character at all.
