Go Knights Go!

VGK moves on to the Western Conference Championship with a series win over SJ 4-2. The Sharks had our number for a little bit but that game 5 win on Friday was critical.

terrific game by Vegas.
Both teams closed out in the first elimination game today. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

It's a miracle!
I think the Pens lost due to Russian collusion.

This has been a crazy series as neither team has won back to back and both are 1-2 at home. The first line scored all 4 goals last night. Peka had a solid game, but they played much better defensively. Hartnell has only played in two games this series, but theyíve outscored the Jets 6-1. Maybe he should be in the lineup Thursday night.

HAHAHA that's funny right there. Can they beat Tampa, with the way the Pens have been playing I don't think they could have.

Caps had the Pens number last night, especially in the first two periods prior to Pens scoring. I was almost feeling sorry for them. Not really.

Pens are opportunistic. That was their game plan. Count on getting 3 goals during their obligatory 10 minute push. Their D is weak. Murray had his best game but they didn't score during their push.
Caps for the first time ever are playing a smart, focused team game. I think they learned from not being dominantant during the regular season. 5 rookies in the lineup last night. And missing 3 of their top 6 players.
IF/IF they stick to executing like that, they can beat Tampa. Much like the Pens, Tampa is stacked up fro t, weaker on D. Holtby will have to keep killing it.
Probably another long series.

Definitely a ball buster to lose an elimination game in OT. For me, the Hawks loss in game 7 of the WC finals in 2014 was worse than being swept by the Preds last year. Just like the Pens, it deprived them of what would have been 3 Cups in a row, unheard of in the salary cap era.

Looking forward to see how the rest of the playoffs play out, I think the Jets will face the Lightning in the final, but anything can happen at this point.

Yeah, you have to consider the Jets and Bolts the favourites, but I wouldn't count out Nashville, and I definitely wouldn't count out Vegas. The only strike against them is their expansion status...otherwise, they have been lights out. The Caps are the Cinderellas (even moreso than Vegas) at this point.
Regardless, this has already been a spectacular post season. A ton of great games, and a bunch of interesting storylines.

So my team is out, but so are all the teams I hate. I don't know what this emotion is called.

That rare moment when you can just enjoy the game, without the emotional investment.

i just read that another former NHL player that passed had CTE. Wasnt a big name guy. I think as more NHL players pass and they donate their brains its going to get ugly. I got knocked out a couple times pretty bad and have always wondered how thats gonna pan out for me. So far no symptoms.

They say its worse if you get dinged and then dinged again right after. I had one game where a guy dropped me with an nasty elbow and once I got the tweety birds out i put a nasty hit on him at center ice but knocked myself goofy again. I ended up going to the wrong bench and the ref had to dance me over to my bench and he told the coach to get my azz off the ice for the night. I was a hat rack for a day after that one

You don't know that unless you have been checked out by a Doc.

I had a diagnosed concussion, ER and Primary Care. I thought I was having a few issues months later and my PC sent me to a noggin Doc. He ran me through some tests while I was seated. Then he had me walk heel to toe barefooted across the room, then do a 180 with one foot planted. I almost fell over. He told me to sit down and he put a large tuning fork to my head and asked me a simple question. I could not find the words. He then did some more electronic test.

He said from all of the jumps, explosions, car wrecks, hits to the head, blah, blah, blah, I have TBI.

I think it's called "indifference".

We are officially NHL fans here in Las Vegas. We're all in with the VGK mania.

This town is supporting this team - car stickers, billboards, t-shirts, jerseys, hats, dealers and casino workers wearing gear, my customers wearing gear, people you don't know having conversations about the VGK phenomenon, and my customer putting up a huge banner.

Mama and I bought some t-shirts to kickoff our support. LOL

I can't be sure if I am hooked on NHL playoffs or if I am officially hooked on hockey. This game is awesome. I've overcome not being able to follow the puck and wow.... Cool game.

The true test of fan support for the Knights will be when they sink to such depths that they wind up missing the playoffs several years in a row.

The Blackhawks sunk to such depths prior to their resurgence under the leadership of Rocky Wirtz after his father passed away, but they would still draw some hard core fans to the UC. Right now, they are in a down cycle and are trying to regain some of their mojo from the past decade.

I like the Knights, I'm hoping they sustain the success they've had in their first year, but like anything success at the pro sports level can be a cyclical thing. Some years, sometimes successively, you're up and other years your down.

With the exception of the NE Patriots, who seem to have made some sort of pact with the devil.

Unbelievable that the Knights are on the cusp of getting to the SC final in their first year, just one win away. I thought after the first game, which I thought the Jets totally dominated, that Las Vegas might be out of their league and wouldn't be able to keep up.

Clearly, I was wrong. Their speed is their salvation (and of course they got a little help from Buff turning the puck over last night leading to the winning goal).

It ain't over 'til it's over, but the fat lady is in the wings warming up.
