So would have she or other students started shooting back at National Guard soldiers? I think she should have left that argument out, that if students had been armed the Kent State Massacte would not have happened. As tragic as that was, if there had been returning fire from students it would have been a serious blood bath. But who knows, maybe that was what was needed or is needed in the future.

Nice though to see a conservative young recent college graduate, and she does show the absurdity of the current campus policy.

Reading the posts on her picture. So many libs are asking her why she needs a gun and calling her an attention whore. And then two posts later someone is threatening her and her family. Gues libs still have a hard time putting 2 and 2 together.

Because liberals have been progressively shifting from being liberals to being leftists.

Wasn't Kent State the epitome of what the Anti-Federalists created the 2A for? Can't get more tyrannical than a govt's military shooting unarmed protestors - over that stupid f'n war, that both Johnson and Nixon knew was BS by January 15, 1969 (The day the 'Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Vietnam Task Force' a.k.a. 'Pentagon Papers' was released).

What, don't fight tyranny if there's going to be a blood bath?

Quote:
Extract from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison: Paris, January 30th, 1787

"Societies exist under three forms, sufficiently distinguishable: (1) without government, as among our Indians; (2) under governments, wherein the will of everyone has a just influence, as is the case in England, in a slight degree, and in our states, in a great one; (3) under governments of force, as is the case in all other monarchies, and in most of the other republics.
To have an idea of the curse of existence under these last, they must be seen. It is a government of wolves over sheep. It is a problem, not clear in my mind, that the first condition is not the best. But I believe it to be inconsistent with any great degree of population. The second state has a great deal of good in it. The mass of mankind under that enjoys a precious degree of liberty and happiness. It has its evils, too, the principal of which is the turbulence to which it is subject. But weigh this against the oppressions of monarchy, and it becomes nothing. Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietam servitutem. Even this evil is productive of good. It prevents the degeneracy of government and nourishes a general attention to the public affairs. I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government."

Extract from Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith: Paris Nov. 13. 1787.

"...the people can not be all, & always, well informed. the part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. if they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. we have had 13. states independant 11. years. there has been one rebellion. that comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. what country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it’s natural manure."

Still gorgeous. Still good hunting. There are jobs available, just not many that appeal to .mil folks for the most part. State police age requirements and the County Sheriff age requirements are dumb. I could have been 5 years into an LE career.....

I hike out that way often. Nothing like a long day of hiking and then stopping at the original Brooks BBQ for some ribs and slaw.

Well, looks like REI has jumped on the bandwagon - not going to sell Camelbacks or Bell or Giro products, due to their association with gun manufactures as in their parent company Vista owns several firearm related compaines.

Same for this guy: Bikes not Bullets.

As with the Dicks thread, seems a line is really being drawn.

Always liked REI, but no more business from me.

Intuit is also being a corporate dick. Gunsite signed up for Quickbooks. There was a question about how they do their sales that GS thought was cleared up. Then Quickbooks called back and said, nope, we're killing your account, and we're returning all of those sales back to the owners of the credit cards.

Quote:
...in addition to cutting business ties with Gunsite, QuickBooks/Intuit refused to release the money from credit card charges currently in process from sales that had already made.

This amounts to tens of thousands of dollars from not only purchases made in the Gunsite Pro Shop – including hats, shirts, bumper stickers, and coffee mugs – but also money that had been paid for classes taken on gun safety and marksmanship.
Intuit owns QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, and several other platforms and companies.

Their members signed petitions, numbering in the thousands, to do this.

As has been pointed out - their "side" is very pro-active. I'm not aware of any petitions by REI gun-owning members of their co-op to request the continue selling the products...

I have been an REI co-op member since 1972 when they only had the Seattle location and everything was sold via catalog. I have purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise over the years. No more.

Sad day indeed to see them jump on the anti-gun bandwagon and cut off such quality vendors no matter how tenuous the connection to firearms and related products.

Don't think I will ever use my REI co-op number again, let alone set foot in one of their stores.

I'll set foot in their stores to check things out, figure out sizing, etc, before I order from somewhere else.

Looks like Washington State is heading the way of California. Gun control initiative just picked up a couple of million bucks.

I can't wait to get out of here!

These types of tactics are just like when the left wanted to ban all bullet sales making guns obsolete. They have refined the tactics to persuade companies to become activists. Unless people go liberal crazy on these companies it will only get worse. Boycotting just does nothing anymore companies are to big to even feel the pain. They will just expand into China more and replace the customer base they loose by " doing the right thing". Its a win win for the globalists.

And when they make their state a shithole, they will locust-swarm to other states and shit it up too. Eventually the entire USA will be one giant socialist hell hole with no rights. The best things states could ever implement, somehow, is inter-state immigration. At least as far as voting is concerned. I'd go so far as to say property ownership too, to freeze out the migrating hordes.
