T-rock.....I did the same thing, I went from a goliath to a lap dog! Duke was my English Mastiff who we had to put down..and he was also a lap dog. He was 200lbs and the sweetest dog I've ever had.

After a long wait we let the kids pick out a new puppy. They chose a Jack Russell....and I hated it! No offense to Jack Russells or JR owners...and no offense to Woody, whom I gave to a good family.

Smart, crazy, and beautiful. Hard to train when she was young but it was worth effort.

She's nine, roughly.

We got her from a pound in Virginia. She hates men and uniforms, so the mail man is her worst enemy.

She's very well behaved, except she thinks she's Steve McQueen in The Great Escape. If we take her out off leash, she'll stay close by and obey commands. But if she finds a way to get out of the house on her own (yes, she's pushed over many a small child), she's gone and the chase is on. The only one who's been able to catch her is my son.

It was actually pretty neat to see him run her down at full speed... :D

Our two male mastiffs at the neighbor's house with one of their Burners.

Darby is on the left. He is 6 and about 155 lbs. The monster puppy on the right is Recon; he is 16 months and already 190 lbs. He's a huge dumbass, strong as an ox, and a total lover that wants nothing more than to be with the kids.

Great dogs.

What I can't stand about pups is how unappealing they look until they get older.

My "killer" is on my avatar.
Duncan is a 3 y/o Old English Bulldog. He digs chicks and beer..... Not necessarily in that order.
Whats not to love?
Oh, maybe the fact he's smarter than me, snores, and farts with the most foul smelling odor known to mankind constantly. I think it is the cheap beer.....:D

I had a couple of good ones with him and his little sister but I cant get 'em on here.

Mr. 0699,

She is so crazy that she is dirt attractor all the time. Were she any color it would still be the bath every day.

She has adopt children of my Friend and Host, you could say has adopt entire Family. Very good girl. She watch over the children so well that if I leave area I think I will leave her with them even though I will miss her.

Regards,

This is Georgia. She's about 8. I got her at 18 months from a shelter after she'd been dropped off. Until that point she lived in a crate for 19-20 hours a day.

I commend Georgia on not looking at the camera with that typical dog: "I'm taking a shit, can you look at something else" embarrassed gaze they give you. ...when you're not looking at something else.

Any dog with the presence of mind to keep a swig of beer left in a couple of bottles for when you two wake up...is a damn good dog.
