RIP SGM Cavaiani, SF MOH

SGM Jon Cavaiani passed away today. SGM Cavaiani was a MOH reciepient and a great soldier. He was an inspiration to many. He has touched me in the past when he was the SF Branch manager. He will be missed.

I was lucky enough to spend some time with him a few years ago. He was a good man, hell of a Warrior!

Rest In Peace, SGM.

Met John while at 10th at Devens in early 80s.

A class act in all respects.

He did great work with JPAC helping to locate MIA/remains and is well respected there.

RIP, John, RIP.

He was a good mofo and he mentored a basic load of SF and SO guys.

His fight against a rare bone marrow disease was as hard as any fight he or his guys ever had.

In the end, the rules of the game say the Reaper always wins.

Old 10th Devens guys, you know how the 12-miler ended on an uphill at TASC? Jon (then an SFC) laid that course out for then-CO Col. Davis. So he was the guy you were cursing from about Mile 10 or so.
