https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-010-01.../dp/B00RY1YYXWCheck out the Fenix line from Garmin. Similar features as the one above but you can save about $550 if you go with the 3 vs the 5. I have the 3 Sapphire and love it. Weren't enough benefits for me to choose the 5.

Had a chance Tom put my hands on one of these today. Titanium with titanium band. Surprisingly light and easy to read and use. I'm impressed.

I've been looking to see if I can put the titanium band on mine. GPS picks up quickly. Been nice using it on hikes. Plan on using it cycling too. You can also download customized watch faces for it for free.

That is pretty amazing, a cool grand though is pricey.

If you don't need the dive functionality they are releasing the Garmin Tactix Charlie soon. All of these are variations of the Fenix 5x. The only difference that I see between a 5x and the Tactix Charlie is the Titanium bezel and back with Diamond Like Coating (DLC). The Ti band sells for $230 on it's own and can be added to a 5x or any other variant.

I assume that the price difference between the Descent Mk1 and the others is the depth sensor and higher levels of testing for certification at 100 meters.

To, not Tom, apologies for the typo.

There are also apps for this watch, sailing, skiing, etc. all have a variety of applications that you can choose from.

Looking at playing around with a Smart Ring for shits and giggles - mostly to analyze sleep patterns. Motiv and Oura are the main players. Probably go with an Oura, since it is Android ready right now (actually about 3 weeks when it ships).

My watch does this and it is pretty accurate. It makes you aware of how much you do or do not sleep, the quality of it etc..

Yeah, I'd rather wear a ring though. IIRC, it'll do HRV (Heart Rate Variability) too, but I need to dig more. HRV is a good metric.

Edit: Looks like it does:

Question for those of you who went to a Garmin Fenix.

Is the size and lack of touchscreen something you second guess now?

Lost my watch due to a broken band and looking to replace it with another Garmin.

My daughter gave me an Apple watch, about a year ago. It wouldn't pair up with Iphone after a few months because my I phone download disconnected the wifi, and bluetooth.
I contacted the Apple website with the problem, no answers.
I suggested to them that to have other Apple devices with the same App to pair with the Apple smart watch like the iPad, laptop, Apple PC , anything !
Still no answer from Apple !
So I broke the smart watch the other day, by accident. problem solved.
Now I have to save up $1k for a really smart watch or just keep my G Shock mudder that has been through hell for about 5 years!
