Does anybody else find it odd that LEO's are attending a seminar on "Killology"???

Maybe it's just me...

Most of his LE seminars are based on the "Bulletproof Mind" rather than his other seminars. They are "mindset" oriented.

It's a pretty simple thing. Many (not all) in LE who have never served in the military, particularly in combat, desperately want someone to tell them the things he has to say. The Sheepdogs guarding the flock etc etc. That's not limited to LEOs, it's something we all crave, the validation of being/doing something important. That we matter. Grossman has just figured out how to make money off of a particular community and it's need for that type of validation.

I have to confess, I read "On Killing" about a decade or so ago. I was so impressed I don't remember a fucking thing about it other than it struck me as a bunch of nonsense.

It's easy, just start by being an ambulance chaser. Grossman got his start hawking himself as the go-to expert to prevent school shootings. Luckily for Grossman, the "24 hour news cycle" on cable was gaining steam when he was starting, and that coincided with what appeared to be a sudden increase in school shootings. So...killollipop.

Find a way to get naive public officials to give you taxpayer money to solve a problem that has no real solution...you can say it's about "awareness." Dave Grossman and John Giduck have the school shooting angle covered, so you'll have to pick another topic. Maybe suicide prevention? Never let a tragedy go to waste, swoop in before the bodies get cold.
