I'm wondering where you got the idea that the police were even capable of controlling "the public" anyway. You're only out numbered a million to one, and there's probably 100 combat arms vets out there of all ages for every cop. A lot of whom own guns. There's good reason why after things get to a certain point the National Guard gets called in.

You only police with the consent of the police'd. Maybe you know that, but your choice of words seems to indicate otherwise. Mindset is everything.
