Security Shift Supervisor

We currently have an opportunity for a Security Shift Supervisor to join our WECTEC Security team at our Vogtle site in Waynesboro, GA.

The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the subcontractor security shift operations which provides security and protects all employees and company assets. Supervise programs and processes to ensure procedural compliance, access control and training requirements are met. Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting.

The following is not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Assists in the coordination and assignment of Security Officers on assigned shift.
Responsible for the proper execution of assigned duties.
Coordinates training with security subcontractor for new officers.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities including interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Maintains a professional departmental, company and community reputation.
Maintains regular, consistent attendance record.
Knowledgeable of and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, and orders.
Performs observations and assessments to ensure compliance with procedures.
Provides overall protection of company assets.
Ensures Investigations and Incident reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner for all events.
Develops and revises Post and Standing Orders related to the security department.
Interacts with local law enforcement agencies as required.
Provides expertise when creating security orientation and/or training for site personnel and visitors.
Coordinates traffic control and manages data-base for parking violations.
Creates and coordinates communication for daily shift briefings as necessary.
Leads and performs training presentations of lessons learned and best practices.
Oversight of daily subcontractor operational reports to ensure accuracy.
Ensures Access Control requirements are in accordance with regulations.
Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required.

Job Requirements


Has knowledge of NEI 09-01 Security requirements of New Nuclear Construction, NRC regulations as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedure (Preferred).
Knowledge and understanding of Nuclear INPO Traits (Preferred).
Must be able to work any shift including weekend, night and holidays; and/or work extended hours if required.
Applies knowledge of company, client and legal guidelines within scope of work to resolve standard and non-standard problems.
Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must have two to five years’ experience as a security guard or law enforcement agent with a 2- year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
