Cell Phone Service In The Caribbean

My wife and I are going on the Norwegian Epic cruise ship soon.

Some of our ports of call are: Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Lucia and Saint Kitts.

My mother-in-law is borrowing her T-Mobile ZTE Z915 hotspot to us. My understanding is that while we will have service in those places, I will need to use a device with the correct bands. And, I do have a device with the correct bands.

So, does anybody know what sorts of speeds I am likely to get and am I better off getting a Google Fi SIM card for use there? Would Google Fi get faster speeds in those places than T-Mobile international coverage would?

I have been to most islands and I have Sprint phones. These worked fine most of the time.
Otherwise on the ship you can use the wifi (At a cost)
