A few years ago my neighbor, Mr. Gillis, in his late 80s, a veteran of Burma was showing me his old photo album of the time. There was a photo of a girl in a bikini there, a knockout! Asked him who the pin up girl was. Was his wife! My late 80s Neighbor, Mrs. Gillis. ; )

He married her a week after returning home in 1944. Both married until about 5 years ago when both passed away within a few months.

He got out of the service, went to college under GI Bill and became an art teacher in a high school for 30 years in New York City then retired to Indiana.

He was a photographer with the Air Corps. His photo albums were spectacular.
